The KFC Youth Jam 2013 will feature events organized by the youth using the platform provided on YouthsToday.com, the events are KFC Big Eat Contest, Incitement Talks, Running Man Hunt, Entrepreneur Challenge, Book for Thoughts, Talent Search and Speed Video Competition. 我逝去的五个五年

　近新年，又是让人感慨的季节。最近蛮想看一部电影- 《被偷走的那五年》，听说很催泪。踏入2014，我也将迎来人生的第五个五年。今天站在月台上的时候突然在想，这五个五年里，我的人生出现过多少个人，终究留下的又有多少？

　而那些与我们擦肩而过的，有一天当我们暮然回首，又是否会后悔？我逝去的五年青春年华里，有个背影，犹如浓浓的色彩，如何都淡忘不了。我不后悔曾经所付出的岁月，只是最近开始犹豫了。

　我还能再抱着这份回忆度过下一个五年呢？即使过去的我不后悔，可若我继续这般挥霍我的下一个五年，也许最后会污染了这份最纯粹的“心甘情愿”吧。现在的我，站在月台，不晓得是否应固执的等下去，还是毅然转身去寻找其他的可能。会后悔吗？不晓得。会甘心么？不会。

　这就是我。那么犹豫、那么矛盾。

Movie: The Hobbit- The Desolation of Smaug

My most anticipated movie of the year: The Hobbit - The Desolation of Smaug

The second installation of the three part movie series, The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug picks up where the first part left off, and tells of their journey to The Lonely Mountain.

As usual of the whole LOTR empire, there are many stunning shots, which look even better in 3D. I love that it opens with prologue explaining how this quest began in the first place. It extends the story beyond simply a bunch of dwarves going on an impossible quest, I actually recognize being in the Middle Earth in this movie, as compared to their first one. 

As a fan myself, that was really important, because Middle Earth is like this parallel universe where I sometimes live at, and watching this movie and recognizing the characters and history reference makes the story comes alive. 

Erebor, or The Lonely Mountain, was such a glorious sight to behold! It is not only a place of dragon and treasures. It's a place of historical and cultural significance to the Dwarves of Durin's Folk. It's their pride and their home. (I wished they could have shown more of Mirkwood though. )

Of course, The Desolation of Smaug would not be complete without Smaug. (I still think it's a weird name for a dragon btw, sounds like the name for a conman or something) And of course, the fire-breathing dragon loves riddles. Next thing you know, it's gonna break into a song together with the Orcs and He Who Must Not Be Named oops wrong universe The One (a.k.a. Sauron)

As for the other characters, I am glad that the Company are given more attention so that their personalities are more than just "The Company", Huffington Post wrote about the dwarves earlier this year. 

Orlando Bloom is back as Legolas with his killer arrow-shooting skill. Seriously, if you paid enough attention, you can see Legolas shooting the Orcs who are standing like 5cm from him using arrows. Perhaps he receive star points with his Daddy King if he combo kill them. My roomie said that Orlando Bloom looks totally different from when he starred in the LOTR. What do you think? (Looks like normal aging to me.)

Ed Sheeran, one of my favourite artist currently, sings the OST for Desolation of Smaug. 

But honestly though, nothing beats The Lonely Mountain song from Unexpected Journey.

Uber: The new car service in Kuala Lumpur

Uber- more than your regular taxis

Uber is a new car service recently launched in Malaysia. I tried out their service for the first time last night after going for The Hobbit's premiere (more on that later!), and according to our super-friendly driver, they have only started for around one month. What really sets Uber apart from other taxis, or car-hiring service, is the user experience and great customer service. Everything happens real-time and is so hassle-free, I can tell that a lot of thoughts go into their customer experience team, making sure that you would not need to worry about a single thing, they will pay attention to all the small details in advance for you. 

So I received a promotion code to try out their service for free a while ago and did not have the chance to use it until last night. Like any other apps, you simple download it and sign up, the only significant difference is the need for a credit card. So make sure you have one (=^ェ^=)

Upon successful sign-up, I received an SMS and an email simultaneously. Which is kinda cool, and the message was crafted in a very friendly tone, making you feel welcomed and all. Below is the simple steps of summon your very own one-time chauffeur: 

GPS map is used for setting a pickup location. Press a button and voila! You have summon your very own magical chariot. Actually, this is the part of Uber I like best, what happened was that, once you booked your ride, you immediately get all kinds of information, including: estimated cost, estimated time of arrival, driver's photo, driver's phone number. 

I think they do not have many drivers currently, as we would have to wait for quite some time before our car arrived. We waited for around 15 minutes if I am not mistaken ¯\_ಠ_ಠ_/¯ It was the longest I have ever waited for a booked cab. 

Anyways, our driver arrived in a Toyota Camry after 15 minutes and was quite friendly and polite, which made me less upset afterward. ( It helps that I was in a good mood after a good movie, haha.)

So anyway, we arrived home safe and sound ( It can be quite dangerous for two short girls to travel late night in Kuala Lumpur.) And I was pleasantly surprised to find in my inbox soon afterwards a receipt with complete details of my journey. Really like this as it can be used as a reference next time I wanna use their service again. Also included was a link in case you left anything on the car, quite thoughtful, eh?

In summary, here are the pros and cons of Uber:

Pros

• Easy and hassle-free. If you have internet on your smartphone then you are good to go.
• Reputable and safe. Hey you only got one life ok?
• Comfortable and swag. (This is also my criteria for a good pair of shoes (ˆڡˆ)v )
• Very good user experience. I mentioned this before, and personally, this is a very important criteria for me when choosing any service.

Cons

• Expensive. I mean, if you insist on comparing this to the subpar public transport system here in KL then fine, yes it is expensive. Base fare is RM7, with additional RM0.30 per minute and RM2 every km
• You might need to wait for quite a while depending on where their available driver is ┐( ˘_˘)┌
• Only available for people with a data plan, a smartphone, and a credit card. But I don't think this is an issue as they have a very specific target audience.

Big Bad Wolf Book Sale 2013 Malaysia

Guess where was I 5 hours before I was supposed to go to work on Sunday?

-- Book sales!. I know, I am such a genius. That photo was taken at like 2am, can you see the crowd? What's wrong with these people? don't they have to go to work and study or something? Well, I ended up dragging my feet to work today and looked like I was gonna past out anytime. 

Seriously, ever since my ever-so-lovely roomie told me that we are turning 25 next year, I can literally feel the age creeping up from behind. Like, I can't stay up all night now, and my skin is more sensitive now. urgh. this is turning into some kind of mini crisis.

I digress.

Anyway, this is my first time going to a 24 hours book sale. And I was loving it! I love all shops that open 24-hours. One of my fondest memories in Singapore was the 24-hours supermarket near my house. Buying groceries in the middle of night is such a brilliant idea.

I digress. Again.

You should just check out their website yourself if you do not already know what I am talking about. 

I was slightly disappointed that I couldn't find the complete Eragon series. Maybe I should really order them from Amazon instead ಠ_ಠ

I am such a Star Wars geek. I scream in joy (literally) when I found this gem among the mountains of papers that was trying to separate us. I then grab on to it and refused to let go like a three years old. (◡ ‿ ◡ ✿) My life is now complete.

电影: 小时代2 青木时代

小时代：青木时代上映时没机会看到。今晚终于圆满啦！

本人个人意见是青木时代是今年最养眼的华语电影。以最耀眼的上海为背景所谱写的故事，配上一众帅哥美女、华丽的时尚、唯美的拍摄，真的很难让人不爱。其中最爱的一个场景就是下面这个画面，顾里拖着长长的裙尾，走向顾源，犹如女王、又犹如黑天鹅，和黑天鹅不一样的是，在那个人眼中，她是最棒的，因为她是被爱的。

其实，弱弱地说，我对第一部蛮失望的。冲着郭敬明的名气，我对第一部小时代有了过高的期待，所以就造成了期望越大，失望越大。小时代1 最大的败笔是在剧本本身。也许那样的故事，以小说的形式呈现，是很美的，可是当拍成电影，就缺乏了剧情方面的连贯性。

即使如此，我依然是对青木时代怀着高度的热忱。很喜欢那种唯美，也很喜欢里面的每个角色，每个人物都塑造得很好。其中我最喜欢的角色分别是由陈学冬饰演的周崇光和郭采洁饰演的顾里。

他们是两个截然不同的角色，崇光是温柔的、而顾里是刚强的，却都让人忍不住为他们感到心痛。尤其是看到他们的伪装，崇光的悲哀掩藏在爱开玩笑的笑容里，而顾里的脆弱则掩藏在高傲的话语里。而现实里，我们的周围或者我们自己，又把最真实的自己伪装在什么里呢？另外一位我爱的角色是柯震东饰演的顾源。原因无他，外貌协会的另一个我，就是觉得他帅！哈哈

话说回来，崇光的角色在第一部和第二部都有很棒的台词，本人觉得崇光的台词最能表达郭敬明想说的话。

Product Review: Hado Labo Super Hyaluronic Acid Hydrating Make-Up Remover

原本是想写 篇中文post的。搞了老半天，没搞懂以上的标题改怎么翻译。(－‸ლ)

总而言之，就是想介绍这个我用了几个月的卸妆水。还记得 N年前，刚开始手痒学化妆的时候，都是用婴儿油卸妆的。当时的逻辑很简单，便宜就可以了。哈哈。今年开始用这款卸妆水。一个字- 赞！

我本身不常化浓妆，所以用这个刚刚好，如果是化夸张艳妆的话就需要多花点心思了。哈哈哈哈！卸完妆后皮肤不会感觉greasy or tight。而且效果很好，用清水洗过后就白白净净了，不会导致毛孔诸塞。而且价格也很大众化哦！

What can you do in 5 minutes?

  So I've been persuading myself that I should be more active in maintaining my blog for my own sake. And then I have been persuading myself that using my time to do other stuff is better than writing.

  And then I figure I should maintain my blog regularly with using the least amount of time. So I am starting a new blog challenge for myself:

5 minute blog challenge.

  My rule is that I will just sit down and type whatever comes to my mind using 5 minutes. And that's it, no perfect grammar, no heavy editing. And guess what? I found a community like this too. They are called Five Minute Friday. Hah, guess I am not that genius after all. Shucks, I really want to start something that no one has ever done before. Oh wells, for now, 5-minutes blog challenge will do.

Season of Fall

  Those who know me well know that I simply love it when it's around this time of the year. The weather is perfect (well, as perfect as it can get in Malaysia), and there's sales everywhere. And the best of it all, I love all the sweater, jacket, knit, etc. You know, those kind of clothes you can never wear in Malaysia but for some weird reason the shops keep selling them?

  It has been raining very frequently in the afternoon. And that's not good as it makes it hard to walk in the rain. But at the same time, I love it when it rains. There's something serene and soothing about raindrops. I have a special secret song that I put on loop whenever it rains. Do you have one? Well, maybe you should get one.

On a side note, my phone is down since yesterday. And I am glad that it has no impact whatsoever on my work, apart from making me more efficient. Since there's less distraction.

  I am on a reflective mood recently, and I reckon this mood will last until the end of January.
